Life is a journey and we are all one small puzzle piece of a much larger picture. We each have our own experiences, thoughts, struggles, and joys. My weaknesses may be your strengths – your strengths may be my weaknesses. That’s why, here at Bare Feet and Curls, we think building friendships and having community is so important.
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for the labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
We often hear this set of Bible verses shared at weddings but they also apply to friendship. It reminds us of the importance of surrounding ourselves with friends who love Jesus. Friends who can pick us up when mistakes, bad circumstances, and sin have taken our feet out from under us. Friends who encourage us to love God and others even when it’s hard. Friends who pray for us when Satan’s lies are threatening to take root in our hearts.
Part of being strong, being your best, is realizing that you can’t do life alone. That it takes the help and support of others to be the best possible version of ourselves. And so, it is with great excitement that we welcome Sara Evanchick, one of our Ecclesiastes 4 friends, to the team.
We first met Sara over 12 years ago while she was a local missionary for an organization called Scarlet Thread Ministries. It was truly “friendship at first sight.” and she has been a part of our lives ever since.
Her life is a testimony – from living as a missionary to raising a son with a serious birth defect – and she’s an encouragement to all who know her. Sara has a lot to offer you, our Bare Feet and Curls family, and we look forward to seeing how God will use her story right here at BFC.
Be on the lookout for Sara’s posts on the 5th Monday of each month and be sure to check out her biography. You won’t want to miss getting to know this special woman!
