The Best of 2020: What is 22q11.2 Deletion Syndrome?

From the moment Alisha (our youngest sister) was born – the doctors realized something was critically wrong. A heart defect requiring immediate surgery, a missing thymus gland, and a cleft palate all pointed to the same diagnosis… DiGeorge Syndrome, also known as 22q11.2.

Alisha had a difficult childhood but, looking back, those early years were easy in comparison to the health challenges she faces today. Her life consists of one medical struggle after another yet, through it all, her smile is radiant and her joy is contagious. She is a heaven sent gift from God. We ask that you read Alisha’s story and follow us at @this.is.22q (both Instagram and Facebook) as we advocate and raise awareness for our very own 22Qtie.

You can read the complete story HERE.

Thank you for the outpouring of love and support you continue to show our family. We are grateful.
