Abundantly More: Less Like Me

I’m a musician and have always loved a good melody. You can find me jamming out in most places, but the car is my preferred venue to enjoy a great song. When driving, I shuffle through various stations and, when a catchy song plays over the air, the windows roll down while the volume goes up.

It was on such a drive that I first heard Less Like Me by Zach Williams – it immediately became a favorite. Not only do I love the musicality and instrumentation, but the catchy lyrics summarize everything we desire here at Bare Feet and Curls – to be more like Jesus and less like our sinful selves.

Abundantly More: Fully; amply; plentifully; in a sufficient degree. Greater in quality, degree or amount.

Noah Webster

For July and August, we have decided to take a break from our in-depth weekly posts and challenge you to focus on this one principle instead; becoming Abundantly More like Jesus. Each week you will receive an encouraging thought from us along with 5 Bible verses.

Monday: Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did – 1 John 2:6 NLT

Tuesday: Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God. – Ephesians 5:1-2

Wednesday: You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am. And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you. – John 13:13-15

Thursday: Throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy. – Ephesians 4:22-24

Friday: “If you love me, obey my commandments.” – John 14:15
