On May 18th, 2021, my three kids returned to school (6th grade, 4th grade, and kindergarten) for their first full-day-in-person learning since the pandemic in 2020. It was a challenging day for me… 11 years ago, I stepped down from my teaching position to become a stay-at-home mama and that Tuesday morning, for the first time in over a decade, I had a completely empty house. A chapter in my life had closed and I had no idea what was next for my life.
That’s when I came upon this quote by an anonymous author, “Thou knowest the past but not the future. As to what is future, even a bird with a long neck can not see it, but God only.” But God only. Those three words resonated within my heart. What’s next for me? Where do I go from here? I don’t know what my future will bring, but I have faith in the One who does!
Faith: Belief; the assent of the mind to the truth of what is declared by another, resting on his authority and veracity, without other evidence.Noah Webster
That night I received an unexpected text from a friend asking about my interest in a potential job opening. Within 10 days, I had 5 possible job offers to consider – none of which I had been searching for or pursuing and one of which I’ve excitedly accepted. This experience has reminded me that, while It’s important to seek God’s wisdom and clarity as we walk through life, It’s equally as important to rest in faith knowing that the story of our futures have already been written.
Run the good race by standing firm in your faith.

Thursday: And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. – Hebrews 11:6 NLT
Friday: Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. – 1 Corinthians 16:13 NLT
